Deffinetly behind on blogging. We just delivered Kylies Princess gown and are now starting Jades princess gown. We will have more pictures of this dress going up on the blog. This dress will have cartridge pleating as well as a ruff.

Bridget has come for a duct taping to make a bodic for her. She works at the joist and needs lots of mobility so I will be boning them with spring steel. Her whole costume is going to be very colorful. She is the daughter of a taylor so she will be wearing a little bit of all his customers gowns on hers.

We finished and delivered Ingrids green dress. Now we are on to Kylies. She does not want much shown so I will give you some other pictures to look at. One is a gift from a friend. She made a fairy house in my back yard. It is waonderful. I love it. The second is my Dog Trinket, sporting a new coat I made for her.

Busy Day

Today we did a lot of hand work on Ingrids dress and pinned the hems. Thanks Ingrid for running over for us.

We Started Kylies dress today and it was also ready for hemming by end of day. Thank you Kylie for also running over to do a fitting.

12 Hour day and Melinda and I are beat.

Rainy day

Since I spent the day working on Christmas and Christmas orders I had to find a picture for ya-all.

This is a picture of a crazy quilt I did a while back. It has silk ribbon embroadery, ribbon flowers, lace embelishment, cross stiech and pretty much anything I could put on it.

It actuall rained today, the house felt all cozy warm. It was diffinetly a hot chocolet kind of day.

Ingrids dress

I have had a lot of questions about Ingrids green dress. Is it one or two dresses? It is one with interchangable parts that has grown to almost two.

the first change came with the underskirt. we were going to make it out of two fabrics to make it look like two seperat skirts. Because of the difference in the weight of the fabrics one skirt was inpossable to do. Melinda and I made the decision to make two full skirts insted, to lessen the wieght on Ingrids hips.

Ingrids initiall fitting was without a bodic. We fnished the dress in one week and was ready for final fitting. She came with a corset and it shrank her mesurements . She had lost 5 inches in the waist with the corset on. The whole gown needed to be reworked.

The rework on the initial bodic I was not happy with. So I made another bodic out of the left over fabrics. Each bodic front was matched to a different underskirt.

Ingrid came for another fitting and Loved the costume. Once she gets her hoops we will have the final fitting and do the hems.

I don't have pictures of todays work so I put this one in that Melinda entered in the state fair. It took a second place in costumes and a third place in fashion show.

Today I got lots of hand work done on Ingrids gown. I have D rings on bodic, and bais tape on the hat and thats it. Waiting on Ingrid to get her farthingale to hem the skirts.

Tommorrow we Start on Kyles dress. First I have to clean all the machines, oil, change threads and needles to start a new project.

I went to Organ Stop Pizza for the first time tonight. What a joy. I love live music have since Suzys first grade school concert. We kept feeding the request and the man kept playing that beutiful organ. It was a simple delight but a good one.

Busy day, busy house today. Two costomers consoltations and working on Ingrids Alterations. Its been a long day so I am off to bed.

Jade our next costumer came in for her first consoltation with new corset, and a WOW hour glass figure.

Judy is now working on the bodice and Melinda is working on the 2nd underskirt. Ingrid will be here tomorrow to try it all on.

Melinda has the first underskirt and overskirt ready for a fitting. We will have to h ave Ingrid over.

I am shown working on the partlet adding the collar and getting ready to put on sleeves.

This crazy thing is a bum roll and I am just finishing the inside seam. Scroll down to see it on a maniquin.

After much fabric and machine problems Melinda finaly got the underskirt done.

This is the male version of the Toy Island troup costumes.

Here is the Toy land troup pictures on a maniquin. the front bodice is detailed with black growgain ribbion and soutache on the tabs. The yellow under skirt is trimed with soutach and red bias tape.

Long day of cutting fabric. Cut all of Ingrids garments and all of Kylies, cutting 11am to 8 pm

I also drafted the pieces that where needed to make the Princess garments special. Tomorrow we start to sew.
